How I Fall Back in Love With My Home (Again and Again)

Every once in a while, I get that itch. You know the one. The maybe-I-should-paint-the-walls-and-get-all-new-furniture itch. It usually shows up after scrolling Pinterest for 40 minutes too long or walking through the house with a cup of coffee…

Why Is Everyone So Freaking Tired Right Now?

Happy Friday. Is it just me, or is everyone deeply tired right now? Not sleep-deprived-tired, but that heavy, late-summer kind of tired where your brain still thinks it’s June but the calendar says summer’s about over. I’ve noticed this…

The Secret to Never Cooking Twice (Unless You Want To)

Let me just say it—I used to be firmly anti-leftovers. Not in theory. In theory, I loved the idea of them. Save money, save time, save future me from eating crackers for lunch again. But in practice?…

The “If I Don’t Love It, I Don’t Need It” Era

(a.k.a. why I’ve been to Goodwill four times today) You know that weird little adrenaline rush you get after purging a drawer? When you dump out the contents, toss three expired coupons, seven dried-up pens, some random batteries,…

How to Clean and Polish Brass (Yes, Even the Tarnished Stuff)

I’ve recently fallen back in love with brass…everything. And when it’s clean, it glows. Not in a flashy, look-at-me way—more like a lived-in shine. Like a lamp that’s always been there or an old candlestick that’s seen…

How to Layer Colors, Patterns, and Textures Like a Grandma

When I think of my grandma’s house, I think of comfort. Not the Instagrammable kind where everything is beige and softly sunlit—no, I mean real comfort. The kind where the armchair cushions are flattened in the exact place everyone…

5 Things Mom Probably Didn’t Teach You About Making A Home

When I was growing up, “homemaking” meant rotating the same couple of casseroles most weeks, never sitting on the throw pillows in the living room, which, contrary to it’s name—was not for any sort of living, and…

Maybe it’s the mental clutter. Maybe it’s the fact that we just packed up a whole cabin and now I’m staring down triplicates of EVERYTHING like they hold the answers (they don't).

Either way, I’m calling it transition tired—and today I’m letting it be what it is. (Watermelon and crackers for dinner, anyone?)

New Friday letter is up. Link’s in bio for you. 🩷
